Middle River, MD. – Cadet First Lieutenant Felix Caratini was appointed as Cadet Commander of the Glenn L. Martin Composite Squadron during a virtual ceremony on June 4, 2020.

Caratini is a recent graduate of Bel Air High School and plans to enlist in the United States Air Force. His long-term goal is to be an air traffic controller. As a member of CAP, he attended 2018 National Blue Beret in Oshkosh, WI and is a graduate of 2019 Cadet Officer School, held at Maxwell Air Force Base, AL. Caratini attended his first basic encampment in 2017, returning as cadet staff in 2018 and 2019. He plans to continue through the cadet program, with the goal of earning the General Carl A. Spaatz Award and attending NBB one more time.

"The honorable position of Cadet Commander is not something I take lightly.”, Caratini said. He added,” I am truly humbled by my selection and excited to take the reigns. I serve at the pleasure of not only the squadron commander, but at the pleasure the airmen I lead. I am looking forward to working for all of you and can promise you that we will be looking back on the days ahead as some of our finest. Semper Vigilans!"

Caratini assumed command from Lieutenant Colonel Robert Miner. Miner is completing his time as a CAP cadet this year. He is currently a junior at the University of Maryland – Baltimore County, majoring in Cyber Security. Miner had the challenge of leading the cadets during the Covid-19 outbreak that forced all meetings to be held virtually. Caratini resumed that role and will, over time, resume normal in person meetings.
