Lt. Col. Christopher Roche

Lt. Col. Roche grew up in northeast Baltimore City, attending Hamilton Elementary Middle School and Mervo Highschool. Working parttime his senior year as an operator at a local machine shop, he started fulltime after graduation. In 1996, he completed the Maryland Machinist Apprenticeship Program. Roche earned hi private pilot certificate in 1997, flying out of the now closed Baltimore Airpark. Changing jobs in 2000, he resumed his education, earning an associate degree in Computer Automated Manufacturing. Starting in 2003, Roche was accepted at the University of Maryland Baltimore County and earned his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 2011.

Roche joined CAP in 2003 and took a liking to emergency services. He earned his mission scanner and mission observer ratings in 2004. He then moved into ground team in 2006, eventually earning a rating as a ground team leader and ground branch director. Adding to his rating, he is a qualified mission radio operator and public information officer. He served in many duty assignments, including a term as squadron commander between 2011 and 2014.
